Justin Otaki Perkins is a theater artist based in New York. He creates puppet performances, designs and builds objects for performance, and performs as a puppeteer and actor.
In 2021, he premiered Unicorn Afterlife, a new work of puppet theater, at Dixon Place and online, created with support from Jim Henson Foundation and Jerome Foundation. Recent work as puppeteer at Metropolitan Opera, Harvard University, The Tank NYC, and many video calls.
Justin is a founding curator of Object Movement Puppetry Festival, an annual development residency for new puppet theater.
Justin lives in Brooklyn, and was born in New Hampshire. He holds degrees in theater from Vassar and Sarah Lawrence Colleges.
